Tours: Camping

We have two special camping formula's: "Camping around Petra" and "Camping in Wadi-Rum". These two are described in detail below:

1) Camping around Petra
Enjoy an unforgettable experience camping in the surroundings of the old caravan city of the Nabateans !

We provide the required special permit, all camping equipment and cooking utensils, as well as the needed guide, who will show you the secret ways into the site and recount history and lore for your pleasure and edification.

Stay as long as you wish:

  • Day 1:
    Early morning visit to Petra through Siq canyon, hike to High Place of sacrifice, city center, camp near Little Petra
  • Day 2:
    Little Petra and Baidah (time permitting), over a ledge path leading from the back way into Petra to Ed Deir Monastery, continue the visit.

    or camp near Snake Monument
  • Day 3:
    Hike to Mountain of Haroun (Gebel Haroun) for beautiful view of Petra and the Arava valley.
    => Leave
    or camp near Snake Monument
  • Day 4:
    Trek down through the colourful Valley of Sabrah to the Forgotten Theater and the southern caravan station.
    => Leave

2) Camping in Wadi Rum
Enjoy the silence of the desert in Wadi Rum, the evening around a camp-fire and the stars and moon in the night sky above.

  • Day 1:
    Meet at Wadi Rum Resthouse, transfer by 4x4 to Desert Camp, dinner and overnight in the desert (or Bedouin camp, as preferred)
  • Day 2:
    Return to Wadi Rum Resthouse after breakfast
